Tournament Announcement: Dominion Grappling Championships 3 (Ashland, VA) 14 MAR 09

U.S. Grappling returns to the Richmond, VA area on Saturday, March 14th, 2009 with the Dominion Grappling Championships 3. The event takes place at Patrick Henry High School in Ashland, just north of Richmond (and convenient to Interstate 95).

This event will feature both gi and no-gi divisions for men, women, children, and 30+ men.

Preregistration for adults is $50 for 1 division or $75 for unlimited divisions. Preregistration for children is $50 for 1 or 2 divisions (Gi, No Gi, or Both).

Preregistration closes Thursday March 12, 2009 @ 8 PM Eastern.

Day of registration is $65 for 1 division or $90 for unlimited divisions.

Tickets are $10 for spectators age 12 and up, $5 for for children 6 – 11, and free for children 5 and under.

This event uses the updated Standard US Grappling Rules. They have recently been revised, so please familiarize yourself with our rules. This is NOT a Submission Only event – it will use standard time limits and points.

Seminar Announcement: Close Quarters Combat (CQB) and Jeet Kune Do Seminar

Pat Tray, 22yr Navy SEAL veteran, is hosting a Jeet Kune Do seminar 29 Jan, 1830-2030 hrs at his Trident academy of Martial Arts school, see www.tridentacademy.org for directions. Jeet Kune Do is Bruce Lee’s blended fighting philosophy and Pat learned this art from Dan Inosanto, one of Bruce’s closest friends and training partners.

Please arrive early to sign a release and be sure to mention you are from Pentagon Combatives and that Pat Lee sent you.

Bring striking gloves and focus mitts if you have them.

Rigan Machado At NTC 7-8 FEB 09

Rigan Machado (Champion BJJ 8th Degree Black Belt) will be here the weekend of February 7 and 8 for the NTC ribbon cutting, seminars on Saturday, and to kick off the first USAJJ Instructor Course on Sunday.  More to follow, but clear your calendars for the historic events that weekend.  Instructor Course flyer and tentative schedule attached.

Johnny Ramirez is in Town

Johnny Ramirez (Champion BJJ Black Belt)is in town for a few days.  He will run a free seminar Saturday at 1100 for members.  Johnny is a phenomenal Jiu-Jitsu player and coach, so take the opportunity to spend some time watching and learning from him while you
 can.
